Do you support the death penalty/Capital Punishment?

30 comments:

  1. Yes, definitely because people who commit big crimes which may effect many lives must be punished. Such people don't even deserve to live on earth. If we see the recent examples Kasab the terrorist caused havoc to the crowd and also was the reason for the death of many lives. Many were homeless, many lost their families, many lost their parents and others their children. But after all this he was given a chance, yet he didn't change and finally he was sentenced to death. We see many such type of scenes somewhere around the globe.
In the recent scenarios women harassment is a big issue, there are many factors which are leading to such cases. The primary mistake comes to the parents because most of the parents they try to bring up their children such that they won't face any difficulties. They provide them with many things before being asked. But they won't care about what they do because both mother and father nowadays are being busy in their works and this is leading to the destruction of their children they go on doing notorious things which weren't cared so they develop a feeling that what ever they do is right and finally when they grow up they will be the criminals and vagabonds on road.

  2. Capital punishment executes someone as a punishment for crime. It should be supportable because, it is only used as a punishment for serious types of murders and crimes.
It is used in Many countries around the world. All countries are trying to compete the present world in terms of development but, if crimes takes place in the country automatically the world won't even give least priority. Death penalty is needed for the development.
People in the society only look for a happy environment to live in. If someone attempt crimes, the whole environment spoils. They don't even understand whom to believe. There are many crimes faced by society like murders and kidnaps. That people need to be killed as a punishment for crime. Then only this world will be a safe place to live in.
In our point of view people who make crimes need to be punished because they may have killed many lives which are precious.

  3. No,I don't Although it is wrong for the person to commit a crime,it is even more wrong to kill him/her.If the crime is committed as murder, then it is more crime to kill the criminal. If police kill him/her,then now the police are murderers themselves. If the person has committed the crime, then there will be a reason for doing it.Even the great person Anton Chekhov is against about killing criminal in his story 'THE BET'. Capital will kill the person at once but that moment kills the capital life long.
Now-a-days the present situation of the society is becoming worse. If any single crime happens, then total society is going to spoil and all the people will loose trust on others. They don't believe anyone. Even sometimes the innocent is getting punished.
On the other,it is correct to kill the criminal. If criminals are leaving freely without any punishment even after a crime, then in society everyone is going to become a criminal for silly reasons. If criminal is punished, then everyone in society will come to know that should not do any crime. If this happens in every country then whole world will be leaving with peace and having no tensions.
Thus,on the topic of 'Do you support the death penalty/Capital Punishment?',my opinion is no to kill the criminals, but just make them realize themselves and keep them in prisons until they recover.

  4. Crime is everywhere. Wherever we look, we find criminals and crime. Criminals have become a part of our daily lives. Does this mean we let them be the darkness of our society? No, definitely not. Eliminating crime and criminals is our duty, and we cannot ignore it. Getting the rightly accused to a just punishment is very important. Some criminals commit a crime because they have no other option to survive, but some do it for fun. We do not advocate death penalty for everybody. A person, who stole bread from a grocery store, definitely does not deserve death penalty. However, a serial killer, who kills people for fun or for his personal gain, definitely deserves death penalty. Where, Death penalty should continue in order to eliminate the garbage of our society. Not everybody deserves to die, but some people definitely do. I support death penalty because of several reasons. Firstly, We believe that death penalty serves as a deterrent and helps in reducing crime. Deterrence means to punish somebody as an example and to create fear in other people for the punishment. Death penalty is one of those extreme punishments that would create fear in the mind of any sane person. Secondly, it is true that death penalty is irreversible, but it is hard to kill a wrongly convicted person due to the several chances given to the convicted to prove his innocence. Thirdly, death penalty assures safety of the society by eliminating these criminals. Finally, We believe in "lex tallionis" - a life for a life.

  5. We don't support the death penalty because it is not nearly humane at all. A big thing here is that two wrongs do not make a right, which is absolutely correct. People change, they make better decisions and they change their frames of mind all the time. In many cases, the penalized human is innocent. Why would you want to take the risk of killing an innocent person because you think that they are guilty? You must give people a chance to change who they are before you make an immediate assumption. Everyone deserves a second chance. As long as they are willing to change, they should be allowed a second chance. It is only fair and killing them wont change anything. It is just one more life taken away. Isn't that just redoing what the murderer did? "A life for a life". So those who hung the convict should die too. Think about it. We despise any country with the death penalty because it is a blatant disregard for life. Anyone would see that it would mean a lot of questions will be asked if they put an innocent to death. It's happened before in history, and it will happen again in the present. In fact, They`ll be out out of their misery Even if a person is to kill another, or do any harm to a person, they should not be given the death penalty. Killing them will only end their suffering- the suffering that they deserve. Death will only relieve them of the things the have done. They will never have to regret, feel guilty, or even feel an ounce of pain. Death may get rid of the person, but it doesn't hand them what they deserve.

  6. DEATH PENALTY AND CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

Obviously, I support death penalty because a life of 100 years of any human is not granted reasonlessely. Day by day these crimes are increasing only because of the accused is not punished properly according to the rules. Anyways such things are frequently happening. In recent times we gone through a scenario where a women is tortured and harassed for no reason.
This is such an indisciplinary incident and the only reason for these kind of deeds is 'Education System' .
Only when the education system is improvised these kind of situations will be cleared. Improvisation does not mean only subject knowledge but students should be taught human values they should be educated mentally, physically, and corruption should be vanished. Obviously, this problem could be solved by educating then only our future generation would be peaceful. So, capital punishment and death penalty too because we can't replace life but atleast we can make their soul rest in peace by making their dreams come true.

  7. Yes. I will support because who are opposing the law they mustn't should be punished. And in our country people taking part in different crimes. They are going in different sectors like corruption, harasing, murders, kidnaps on big issue.
    1. Some criminals are born to be evils and won’t regret, so they deserve to be eliminated from the society. Otherwise, there will be more victims.
    2. Not every murderer or raper is sentenced to life imprinsonment without parole and they are likely to commit crimes again after release.
    3. If your beloved daughter were raped and tortured to death, Would you forgive the criminal and wish him not to be executed?
    Sometimes it's needed
Some people simply do not deserve to live after committing crimes of horrible nature. Murderers (especially serial killers), repeat or child rapists, tortures, the people who commit these sort of crimes simply do not deserve to live anymore. When considering taking the life of another person, one should understand that doing so risks getting their own life taken, hopefully a deterrent. They say death row doesn't deter people, but almost every inmate you hear about on death row is begging like a salesman to be spared. Murderers who killed when they were over 18 or 21 should automatically be given the death penalty, murders would probably decline if people knew their own life would end early if they murdered others.

  8. Everyone agrees that crime is bad and we need to stop it. This seems sensible and logical in every way, until we ask the question.
I think that the death penalty should only be given out to those who are definitely guilty and do agree that it has been given out to people that may not have been proven 100% guilty and that is wrong as mistakes can be made. It costs more to kill them than to keep them alive. Dying is too easy, I would rather die than be kept in prison for the rest of my life. We run the risk of killing innocent people. It does not help the victims of the crime or their families in any way. It is revenge, cold and calculated. It is ineffectual as a crime deterrent.

It sends the message that killing is great as long as the government does it. It is ineffectual as a crime deterrent.
Conclusion :If you still really support the death penalty, then you must accept that if your son or daughter murders they will be executed, and this is something that you agree with whole heartedly.

  11. In my point of view I feel that we can sometimes support death penalty, but in some cases we won't support the penalty because we don't like people who kill other people, so to show everyone how much we don't like people who kill people, we are going to kill people who kill other people.
Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a government-sanctioned practice whereby a person is killed by the state as a punishment for a crime. The sentence that someone be punished in such a manner is referred to as a death sentence, whereas the act of carrying out the sentence is known as an execution. Crimes that are punishable by death are known as capital crimes or capital offences, and they commonly include offences such as murder, mass murder, terrorism, offenses against the State, such as attempting to overthrow government, piracy, drug trafficking, war crimes, crimes against humanity  but may include a wide range of offences.
The death penalty is used to deter killer, but the very behaviour it seeks to prevent. It teaches that the lesson that it is acceptable to kill, as long as the state is the one doing the killing. The capital punishment system is discriminatory, arbitary and inherently violates the constitutional ban against unusual punishment.
"Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer". The death penalty is irreversible, so it is critical that it can be used on actual killer.

  13. CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a government act where a person is killed by the state as a punishment for participating in a crime. The sentence that someone be punished in such a manner is referred to as a death sentence, whereas the act of carrying out the sentence is known as an execution. Life is the one of the thing on the earth which is priceless. Execution of a person for the crime done by him is bad as well as good thing. Mainly , one of the most important nature a human being possess is excusing nature. In our view, excusing a person for crime done by him will give them another chance to do mistakes. Excusing will make them fearless and irresponsible towards law as well as society. They will become menace to the society. Excusing also motivate the other people and encourages them to make an offence. They become careless towards the law and constitutions which becomes a greatest threat to the country. So finally, execution or death penalty is not at all a sin and it corrects society and directs the society in a proper direction.

  14. In my view in some cases death capital can be supported, but most of the time it is denied.the people who commit terrible crimes such as mass muder, muder bombblasts etc.my first issue is that the justice system is never 100% correct. “Judges and juries can convict the innocent, as we know from the case of Donald Marshall, jailed for more than a decade for a murder he did not commit.”(143). Most crimes end up with criminals serving jail time. Sometimes people turn up innocent. Because they were only sent to jail and not sentenced to death their sentence can be reversed. A death penalty is irreversible. The jury is also a factor in determining penalty.

Several times the same crimes are committed and different sentences are given out. A black man may receive the death penalty while a white man can get imprisonment. “In Canada, before the death penalty was abolished, native Indians, Ukrainians, and French Canadians were more likely to be executed than others.”(141) A jury who consists of those who believe in the death penalty is more likely to vote guilty while one opposed may vote innocent. They do not want to be held responsible for the death of someone, innocent or guilty.

  15. Do you support the death penalty /capital punishment?
Yes, I support death penalty because as day by crimes are increasing. Deterence means to punish somebody as an example and to create fear in other people for the punishment. Ernestvanden haag, his article "On Deterrence and the death penalty "mentions, one abstains from dangerous acts because of vague, inchoate, habitual. Suppose there is no death penalty in a state and life imprisonment without parole is maximum punishment. Death penalty should continue in order to eliminate garbage of our society. I support death penalty because of several reasons. Firstly, I believe that death penalty severs as a deterrent and helps in reducing crime. Secondly, Death penalty assures safety of the society by eliminating these criminals. Finally I believe in "lextallions - a life for a life
Capital punishment is a legal penalty in India. Capital punishment is the practice of executing someone as punishment for a specific crime after a proper legal trail. It is usually only used as a punishment for particularly serious types of murder, but in some countries treason, types of murder, but in some countries treason, types of fraud, adultery and rape are capital crimes. "In Indian the traditional way of awarding this punishment is "handing by the neck "till the death of criminal.

  20. Well, crime which can be in any forms is a very horrible and evil thing. God has created us but didn't gave rights to kill others. So, even court orders death penality as a right punishment. But, Is it the right punishment? In our opinion death penality kills people but not crime. Death penality is easier than life in prision. Moreover many commit suicides to get rid of life problems, so imagine do the people who do crimes and murder really fear from death? Even recently the death of many Indian army people had spread great sadness over country. The murderer was a terorist who even gave up his life to satisfy the motto to kill many Indian army people. The people who have such guts to kill others will never fear of death.
The death penality is no more effective a detterent than life imprisonment. It is also evident that the burden of capital punishment falls upon the poor, ignorant and underprevileged
members of society. Even you may remember about the stories of kingdoms read by you in your schooling. Many depict about the hang of innocence without knowing the actual truth behind crime. Even once the great Birbal was mistaken as a criminal and was opt to hang of death by king. But luckily it was sort out. So, in many cases this death penality is even misused to supress the political oponents.
So due to all these reasons, it seems death penality is not the right punishment at all. In our view, instead of death penality, the criminal must be subjected to great horrible torture by life long imprisionment. The torture must be in such a way that, it should awake fear in everyone. This would impose fear in such a way that one would think many times before commiting any crime and never dare to commit it. Even in our view, the prisioners must be imposed to many painful scientific research of medicines which is done over animals. Thus this would arise great horrible fear in people.
Thus, we conclude that murder cannot be abolished by murder. And imposing great fear in people is very important so as to decrease crimes.

  21. The death penalty is nothing but killing a person as a punishment for a crime by the state. In our opinion, the death penalty is discriminatory and doesn't do anything about the crime. Humans do many mistakes and it's the quality of being human. But, Do you think to offer death as a punishment is right?
Punishment is just to make the person knew about his mistake and regret it but death as the punishment is purely wrong according to our knowledge. The death penalty doesn't really deter criminals from committing offences. It also costs the government too much money. It is an inhuman activity and cannot be undone.
Death is sometimes applicable in case our mistakes don't have a chance to recover. It is also applicable for serious crimes like rapes or terrorism, where we can't change the mindset of those criminals.
But, the death penalty must be abolished because it costs a lot of money. The cost of the death penalty as opposed to the life sentence without parole is exponential. Due to the extra measures taken in judicial proceedings, lawyer fees, extended trials, and expert witnesses, costs end up being higher.
Therefore, it is a total waste of effort, time and money to kill someone. This money should have been donated or spend to someone who deserves it rather than to a criminal who can be punished by a life sentence without parole.

  22. In my opinion, death penalty should be strictly followed for the betterment of society. It creates a kind of fear among the people and they will think multiple number of times before committing a crime. It also acts like a strength to the victims as it gives them the assurance that the people who are guilty for the crimes will receive the punishment. Moreover these crimes also involves political leaders and many cops sometimes.
Many Arab cities follow the death penalty rule and hence there are no such dangerous crimes that are taken place in those cities. According to the National Crime Records Bureau nearly 24,923 rape cases were reported across India. 24,923 rape cases were reported across India. Our country is in such a position that they are unable to give punishment to the one who are guilty. Many cases involve political leaders or their heir. They give a specific amount of bribe to the victim or the cops to keep low-key in front of the whole world.
When it comes to society the whole topic gets changed. The people who used to be very close with the victim or their family starts to gibe them. Except father, mother and their siblings every one starts to put-down. In some cases, even the family starts to barb them. In these conditions the victim starts getting into depression and self harms and then kills herself.
All in all I would like to conclude that instead of giving a chance to the culprit and provoking others we should support death penalty to reduce crimes. Because, if a person is excused from being guilty then it provokes others to commit crimes. Death penalty should be strictly implemented to have a safe and healthy environment.

  23. Yes, we need to admit it. Basically, death penalty means death as a punishment given by court for doing crime. This crime includes murder, terrorism, piracy, drug trafficking, war crimes etc. People who do all these must be seriously punished. According to Indian Constitution if any member of a group commits murder or any armed robbery the whole gang must be punished equally. The supreme court in state of Punjab had implemented section 303 of indian penal code which states that death is mandatory for who commits crime and the total number of cases based on death penalty were nearly 1410 from 1956-63. For example in India in state of haryana a 22- year old boy Nikki singh was condemed to death for raping and harrasing an old women of 75-years in 2011. Not only these there were many and many cases of crime. If they were not punished and left now others will take inspiration and start doing the same thinking that no one can punish us when we do all these crime. So, there must be an end to whom commits crime. I hope death penalty is mandatory so no one will repeat the same.

  26. *DEATH PENALTY*
According to us, these days the crimes are rapidly increasing and no one are doing anything about it, it's being ignored.
The best way to stop people to commit crime is giving the punishment to the culprits so that people can remember that and think before committing any crime.
The punishment should be given according to crime the culprits do, not everyon does the same crime and if a crime is very big that he/she should be given death penalty, directly giving sentence to death is not the option. We think that they should be tortured everyday that they feel the pain everyday and ask god for mercy.
Sometimes the people who hav support of politicians commit crimes thinking that they would get away with any crime easily, and they are not wrong, they get away with any crime easily with some ransom or connection of police and politicians.
Death penalty is the highest degree of punishment that can be awarded to individual under any penal law under in any part of the world, sometimes due to wrong judgement, innocent people are sentenced to death without committing the crime.
The crimes should be in such a way that the thought of doing it should stop them to do it.

  27. Arguments against the death penalty:

The death penalty goes against out most basic human right-the right to life. Being killed by lethal injection or being electrocuted is not always smooth and painless, sometimes it causes a painful death. No-one has never proven with numbers that killing murderers stops other people committing similar crimes.
The death penalty is the execution of criminals for committing crimes regarded so bad that is the only acceptable punishment. It establishes order in society by putting the fear of death in to would be killers. Although this works for the most part, one has to wonder if a child who commits murder thinks about the fact that it can lead to death sentence. Studies by the Harvard medical schoo, the National Institute of Mental Health and the UCLA's Department of Neuroscience found that the frontal and pre-frontal lobes of the brain, which regulate impulse control and judgment, are not fully developed in adolescents.

  29. Yes,We support death penalty because one reason supporters of the capital punishment are for death penalty is its effectiveness as a crime deterrent
According to advocates for death sentencing, potential criminals will be scared to suffer such harsh punishment and as a result, they will be hesitant to commit crime.
Some of the crimes that are under capital punishment include murder and rape. There are criminals who are repeat offenders and not scared to rape and murder again, knowing they will only be imprisoned. These types of people and those cannot be transformed should be put to death to protect the majority.
Hence,we conclude that if the criminal do not realize and doesnot have the ability to change his or her ways.We strongly believe that capital punishment is morally right since the society benefits greatly,it is administered in human manner and is the only punishment that levels with the crime.
